This is kinda cool. I know a girl that works for HBO DVD Marketing (she is also a Master's student in the graduate Film Program at New York University, which is fucking sweet). Anyways, she gets to help decide what the DVD boxes should look like for the HBO programs (Sopranos, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under...). She told me she pitched an idea for the Rome DVD box set and they are probably going to use it. Damn that's a kickass job...

I hate the way they cancel or move shows or have big gaps in the series to accomodate other things..... wouldnt happen in the UK people would just stop watching.

I think baseball is on because its more popular than the shows your talking about. How many bars or clubs do you go into that have rome playing on the tv. Like it or not Base ball owns.

oh no, baseball is back with a vengeance.. we (the fans) are over that whole strike situation, and are back to enjoying america's past time. Baseball is a game of anticipation.. yes there is a lot of dead time, but when it picks up and gets exciting - its exciting as hell. When its bad, its awful, when its good, its great.
By the way, going to baseball games is an entirely different experience than watching it on tv.

yeah, you pay more for beer and nachos, sit in a terribly uncomfortable chair, and have to deal with a smelly fat guy pouring beer on your back... but you're still watching baseball.
