Check out the Bugatti Veyron 16.4
1001 break horsepower, top speed of 407km/h (254mph), accelerates from 0 - 100km/h (60mph) in 2,5 seconds, is capable of reaching 300km/h (188mph) in 16,7 secs and has a price tag of 1.8 million euros. Only 300 of them will be built.

i don't think it can really be described as "designed" so much as cobbled together.
heh, even at the astronomical asking price, its doubtful VW will ever get back the money they burned duing the eon of development.

Bugatti/VAG doesn't expect to make a dime from the Veyron, it exists to put the brand on the map again. Bugatti will start making money with their next model, whitch should cost only a fraction of the Veyron, and compete with the likes of Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari Dino, Porsche Cayman S...
