I bought a new processor for quake 3

Gonna be a 700mhz standard jump so hopefully after OC's my little
beast i will be running @ 4000+ or more speeds

Gone from a 3000+ 64 Athlon to a 3700+ 64 Athlon

Anyone had any experience OC'in these beasts?

Hehehe, I just bought mine last week too. I also bought a DFI LANParty mobo with it. Sadly, the mobo doesn't like my Kingston HyperX RAM, so I just put an order out for some GeIL low latency stuff. Once I get that in, it's OC'ing time.

Oh, I would check out the forums at this site...

If you have a DFI mobo, check out the DFI Street forums.

Is that the 3700 San Diego core? If so, nice one. I recently went from my XP 3200+ to a 3700+ SD. Excellent stuff.

Personally, i dont over clock much. But the people over at the futuremark forums have had good luck OC'ing these bad boys.

Btw, did you mean to say "Bought a new processor for quake 4"? :P

Just as a note, if you are gonna run that on a DFI mobo, MAKE SURE your RAM is the good stuff. Low latency, brand name RAM, and if you are gonna run dual channel it better be from a dual channel RAM kit.

I can't use my Kingston HyperX because the board doesn't like Kingston RAM. Yay for me, there's another $125 down the drain.

You'll also want nice RAM so that you'll be able to OC effectively too. =)
