The number that hits land seems pretty normal, but this time we lost an entire city :clownboat:

I live on the East Coast of Florida. We're still waiting to see what it's going to do over the next day or so. But we're ready. I've got a 12kw generator, 30 gallons of fuel and hurricane shutters that I can put up if it's going to get bad. I can run the A/C, (2) refrigerators, freezer, TV, some lights and the PC. So I'm set. :icon26:

i don't see any models putting it into Tampa.. <--thats where I am, they all show it hitting south of Lake Okachoobeee putting us on the far north side of the hurricane.

We plan on riding it out, only 2 ways to get out of FLorida, US 19, or I75, both will be packed and you'll get stuck on the highway.. :(

175ish right now

plus experts (and this means what?) say that the bad hurricanes are part of a weather cycle that will last the next 10 years.

The north side of the storm is the worst side.

If Wilma hits (WTF with names for these things, men can be bad ass too) then it equals the record for the number of hurrycanes in one season, so yeah, numbers are above average this year,
lucky yanks, grab ur surfboards

That's not going to happen in a CAT 2/3 hurricane.

Yeah, like Gilbert, Andrew, Hugo, and Floyd? It's just the luck of the draw.

Afaik the rules for hurricane naming are: male if it's an even year, female if it's an odd year - first letter of alphabet for first hurricane, B for the second, etc.
