Shadows... Does the flashlight cast them or not?

I could of sworn that early in the game I saw my flashlights cast shadows from the world and other people, but now, i dont get any...? I haven't changed anything, so I'm puzzled by this...

So are they on and off "sometimes" and I just noticed this, or were they never on at all...?

If so, whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyy????????

EDIT: Yeah, just checked, before my flashlight DID cast shadows, and now it doesn't:

it doesnt for me. and im glad. it looks horrible in doom3

Your missing the point, its supposed to, otherwise this whole realistic lighting engine is pointless is its not realistic ;)

They took it out of the xbox version for good reason, and i hope thats not the same reason its not always used here... I would like the choice.
