Diamondback freezing problems in q4

Hi,

I've been asking around and people have suggested:

1) lower dpi to 400
2) m_smooth "4"
3) 250hz mouse rate
4) windows sens 5

None of these work. When I move my diamondback faster than a certain speed it just freezes. Since my sensitivity is quite low, this renders it competely unplayable. It does not happen with any other mouse, or in any other game that I've tried.

Also, the problem is only very noticable when I join a server as a client. When running my own listen server, it's not as bad.

I just bought the diamondback specifically for Q4: don't suppose anybody can offer any real solutions?

I've posted a demo of the effect here:

If it is a usb mouse, google a tutorial call aiming by Raziel. There is a utility call mouserate.exe in the tools folder. USB mice have a higher sample rate then ps/2, but quick movements can cause major drops. His documentation will tell you where to go to fix any problems or what to google.

Be advised, this package is for RTCW/ET so you don't want to implement his shooting recommendations necessarily for quake. Though having a high and low sensitivity toggle might be useful in some circumstances.

I will be the asshat strafe crouching when shooting, out of habit.

I've already tried upping the mouserate. But I'll have a look for the tutorial nonetheless.

Please keep the suggestions coming :P

Search this forum. I'm pretty sure two other people here have had the same problem, not sure if they found a fix or not.
