The fragging yard (DM version) a.k.a q4dm1

That version suits so much better as a Tourney map.. is it possible to make small adjustments for it?
Im thinking of the bloody Quade damage..remove that and add mega there instead... and make it playable in Tourney.
I've seen 1 new custom made map for Q4 over at Q4files.com.. so i guess its possible for a mapper to do this.
Anyone that wanna give it ago?

I thought that at first, but I am used to the 1v1 layout now. Changing item layout layout for tourneys should be simplicity itself though.

I really like the 1v1 version, but 1 armor just isn't enough.

Played the 1vs1 version constantly for the past 4-5 days.. its really good, but it misses something, like 1 more teleporter where u exit by LG, it should lead to the plasma.. or something.
anyway, i thought i should check out the DM version and one guy joined..so we started dueling and it was wicked fun actually.. you get more area to control and rail isent the big gun on the map anymore.. you also have a red armor and more teleporters.
This is the map fatal1ty played on Quakecon and anyone could try and get a frag on him competition thingy..
someone remove the quad and make it workable in tourney phu-lease.

Yeah it is a better map for 1v1. The only bad thing is that theres too much armor. q4dm2 is probably my favorite for 1v1. That red one is also kinda cool. Over the edge had potential, but the item placement ruins it.

shouldn't be too hard to do
map files are in pak2 ..extract map ,rename map, edit the map ,replace items, compile

Yeah, the armors and the MH are on one side of the map. I dont think the railgun is a big enough incentive to bother with that big ass room. They should have put an armor where the quad was, and removed the YA next to the MH.

Sounds easy as hell... 2 problems though:
I dont know jackkshit about pak files, mapping, extracting or editing with D3/Q4 engine or Qradiant etc..
If its as easy as you say..maybe ya know someone that can do it?
Add mega where Quad is, make it selectable in Tourney, name it pro-q4dm1 and upload it on a map site.

TBH the problem is the old water area, the new version just seems very unbalanced...

Actually, it might be ok. I played against some rookie, and it was easier than it should have been. He never really put pressure on the LG room, and that YA/MH is pretty hard to get to.

Its very easy to get the rail but it leaves you open for attack.
Its just the shape, the feel of that area. Unless your up high, your fucked, and have no cover.

if u use the stairs and the wall u can easily get up to the armor fast...

Yeah, shove it all on me. I just remember you could force gametypes whatever the map in q3 so maybe also in q4.

instead its summat like g_gametype "tournament" or something gay like htat
