sp2 question/s

i've got a
version of xp pro with sp1a, can i go ahead and install sp2 ?
if i can/did install sp2 what do i need to disable so it feels like sp1a ?

Just install it. It backs up your SP1 settings and installs. Pretty simple.
Nothing... SP2 feels exactly the same as SP1. The only difference is the built in Firewall and security center. You shouldn't disable this but if you want, it's in Control Panel.

The security centre service can be disabled in the services applet under admin tools.
