Client unknown to auth?

FFS. I had this the other night too.

I was playing on reef's server just fine about half an hour ago. Now any game I try to join, I get 'client unknown to auth'.

My firewall has full clearance on Quake4.exe, and I'm on a non-NAT direct IP connection to the interbutt.

Any ideas?

Yeah I got that once when I was messing around with a cfg file. Did you use someone else's Quake4Config?

Simply delete Quake4Config.cfg, it should work.

I used to have this problem alot in q3. Erase the Q4key.txt and that might fix it. that always fixed it for me in quake 3

That would only result in him having to retype his CD key....

Yes I know that, however, in q3 when I had that problem I would erase my key and re-enter and it worked. Just trying ta help

The file is acctually quake4key with no extention, but try removing Quake4Config.cfg first, it worked for me.

Taking about half of the crap in my config out solved it.

Didn't have time to find the exact offenders, sadly.

Thanks guys
