How do I get my blue welcome screen back to normal on rebooting? For some reason it changed and now it tells me to log into my user account which is a pain and means if I leave the room while it's rebooting, it doesn't complete to windows until I've pressed my name. Can't see what to change in control panel/user accounts. Thanks. :)

RLucky82, thanks. Juugy is helping me out now on MSN with what you said about ui power tools as I have never heard of it. I don't have a password you see.

actually, now that i KNOW you don't have one, then looks like you'll need tweak UI or edit the registry. get tweak UI:

Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP).
Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon.
Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your username and password, and click Ok.

Thank you very much juggy for sorting that and the other problem I asked you about. All is well with the world :)

All I can find when clicking on 'change the way users log on and off'
is:

'Use the Welcome screen.
By using the Welcome Screen, you can simply click your account name to log on' which is ticked.
