Drive icons open a cmd prompt window when clicked

Somehow the hd shortcuts I have on the desktop and the ones in my computer open a cmd prompt window when clicked. It's switched to default association for that action for some reason. 
I went to file-types, and in the [drive] association you can go to advanced, and sure enough cmd prompt is there but it won't let me remove it.
