Quake 4 (warning, dont read till you have beaten game)

I realy liked how the game went up to the ending. I played quake 2 for the first time 8 years ago when I was 9, and pretty much gave up on a sequal comeing out so when quake 4 did come out I was extatic. But I was expecting some kind of closure, I mean this series has been going nearly 10 years, how could they possibly milk it more. The first thing that didnt make any sence was turning the player into a strogg. I mean, it would make sence if it would be to give him the ability to jump higher, or like lift super heavy objects, all it did is give him 25% more health and give me the impression the guy will just kill himself after the war. Also, where as in half life, half life 2 really added to the game, took it in a totally new direction while still sticking to its roots. Quake 4 was pretty much the same thing as quake 2 but with the latest technology. The strogg have somehow created a new makron, their fighting ability dosent even seem dented since the new makron, and after you finish the game it seems like the humans are even less in their fighting force, but the strogg are still holding out. I really think quake 4 should have been the last battle, then they let us finaly beat the strogg. Now, what I see happening is a lot of people being pissed off about the repetative ending, and a few more expansion packs being pushed out way too fast (like quake 2's rekoning and ground zero) which will basically kill the series and add absolutely nothing to the series.
