Bluetooth Mouselag

Anyone else use a bluetooth mouse? I just bought one for work to use with my laptop and it lags very noticeably just moving it around the screen. It is a MS Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth, the blue one. Also the movement precision is very muddy and imprecise. I will likely take it back and get a normal wireless mouse instead. If anyone knows of any good ones that don't lag I'd be happy to hear about them.

bluetooth can be very fussy whether you're using XP's built-in driver or a manufacturer's. I would strongly recommend getting a non-bluetooth wireless mouse or just go wired. for a peripheral that requires such precision (assuming you're a gamer), it's a bad choice for a mouse.

Ya I definitely use a wired mouse for my home pc, but I just wanted something less cluttered when I have to take out my laptop for meetings or just using at the "cube of the week". Also the mice often found at workstations I work at are sub par. So anyway I mostly bought the thing on looks and feel, but now it has so much lag I seriously can't use it even though i think it looks really nice. I might try the MX1000 laser I guess but I didn't want to spend $80 on a mess around mouse for work.

i would imagine for the mx1000 to function properly at your work that you'd have to install the Logitech drivers at each workstation.

XP's standard wireless drivers should work. They did for the MX700's used by the execs at my primary network anyways

note that i italicized "pretty". i remember reading this somewhere, but cannot recall where. i might be completely off my rocker, but perhaps not.
either way, a BT mouse is NOT the way to go.

exactly. the ONLY thing BT has been good for in my experience is for cellphone/pc use, but even then the drivers/programs are pretty finicky.

No, it will^H^H^H^Hshould work with the default PS/2 or USB drivers though it won't perform as well (lower resolution, etc.). Note that the MX1000 isn't a Bluetooth mouse, it uses Logitech's Fast RF(TM) technology.
