WTF FireFox?

Installed 1.0.7, Tools | Extensions does nothing. Extensions will not install, but Themes will. I've tried going back to 1.0.6 with the same problem. I've tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling and running RegCleaner several times, all to no avail.
WHAT THE HELL?

are you 100% sure that when you uninstalled it, the folder as well as all tied files are deleted? ( they usually arnt btw )

I manually deleted the folder, but for some reason my url history was preserved. Where else besides the install directory does FF put files?

/Documents and Settings/whichever user/Application Data/Mozilla. Look in there for some left over files.

FUCK! It's still preserving my site history, and it still won't install extensions. WTF?!?!

OK, I finally found the problem. Using RegCleaner, I found numerous registry entries under the Backups tab. Deleted them all, reinstalled and all is well.

Under the Backups tab? But they were still in the currently loaded registry? Do you know where in the registry they were?
I recently got severely pissed at FF. After I upgraded my system and was tweaking my hardware, at one point it decided to lose all my settings. No bookmarks, history, or anything. My entire profile had just disappeared, nowhere to be found, and I searched everywhere.
Looking online I found that quite a few people have had this problem. Apparently it's recommended you make fairly regular backups of your profile. :icon27:
