Ok, I am new to the whole Quake game, I just got quake 4 but I heard that Quake 3 is just classic and so much more fun, so I want to try it,,, I downloaded a demo and when I try and set it to the highest settings I get this error message in a box "GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem", I know you usually ahve trouble playing old games on new computers and I have a custon built AMD dual core Athlon X2 4200+, with two 7800GT's running in SLI mode, with 2 gigs of ram, etc.... I have a top of the line system so thats not the problem, I want to know if there is some fix or update for this to play Quake III perfectly without any errors? Please let me know if you know how to fix this without changing anythign on my computer, I dont wan to have to like install drivers from 2000 or somrthing, there has to be a way to play this game, thanks!

No, you should be able to run it perfectly on that system with the latest drivers. I'm running the same thing (cept I only have a single 7800 card).
i know, thanks

Buy a copy of the game because we're not going to advise you on how to rip off ID Software. On that note, this thread is done.
