I alwayz see ppl flying, or going from one spot to another hella fast, soo fast that it confuses me...how can i do that?? someone told me to type /blind mouse2 +button5 in the cmd..but that didnt work, it says that that is an unknown blind...someoen help me...

On some servers and mods there exists a grapple hook which enables people to fire a "hook" at a wall where it'll latch itself onto and pull the player towards that point allowing the player to reach previously unreachable areas or move great distances at high speed.

To use the grapple hook, first it must be enabled on the server and you must bind a key or button to use it. In baseq3 the command would be as follows (first open the console by pressing ~ key on your keyboard): "/bind x weapon 10". In OSP it would be "/bind x +button5". A good idea is to put this in your config: /bind x "weapon 10; +button5" that way, either way you'll have it set. Just replace the "x" with any key or button of your choice.

To use the grapple hook, simply press and hold the key you binded it to, and let go of the key to release the grapple hook.

thanx..ill give it a try...ppl were telling me to type in /blind mouse2 +button5

it didnt work...it said weapon10 is not a valid weapon or something like that...have any idea of what that means??

Then press and hold x to use the grapple.

All of this goes out the door if the server you're playing on has not enabled the grapple or if the mod does not have a grapple. Pretty much stands to reason that if they ain't givin' it to you, then you can't use it, regardless of how many keys you have bound to it. Do you know what mod, if any, the server is running?

not totaly sure...but when the games loading..i see a grappling hook....and i see ppl doing it all the time in the game...

Are you sure you are typing this in the console correctly (press ~ to bring the console down)?

Try doing it again. Type that exactly as it is with the correct spaces and pressing enter after you type it in. Then press the right mouse button to use the grapple.

I apologize for being redundant, but I think maybe you might be entering the command incorrectly. For in your previous posts you said tried incorrectly stated the binds as /blind and weapon10.

Also check your other thread on how to get the latest version of Q3.

Also it's "weapon 10" not "weapon10". There is a space.
