i built a computer about a year back with the following hardware:

AMD sempron 2800+
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
512megs Samsung DDR-400
WD 200gig SATA hdd
Powercolor 9250 64meg

anyway, he had a problem that he turned it off one night, and it wouldent turn on the day after. this is his story, and he is sticking with it.. :/

Anyway, i try to power the fucker on, and the fans spin, and zip naada, nothign. so i pulled everything apart, cleaned it ( it wasent dirtty ) put it back to geather, Same effect.

so, i take out the ram and boot it to see if it would beep at me.. Nothing

take out the videocard to see if it would beep at me.. nothing

put the ram back in.. nothing

reseat the CPU.. nothing

Take the cpu out, try a cpu that i am 100% sure is working ( its out of a working computer ).. nothing

test his cpu in that working computer.. works! w00t!

Sent off his old mobo to asus and got a fresh one, installed, booted, nothing.

tryed diffrent ram.. nothing

tryed 5 diff psu's.... nothing

took the Cmos batt out.. nothing

Put the Cmos batt back in, Cleared the Cmos.. nothing

reseated the mobo, checked connections... nothing

i am out of options, and the guy is comming back from cuba soon, and he is going to want his computer :)

Any suggestions?

The only thing I see that you didn't change out was the HD. Other than that I have no idea. Although it doesn't seem like the HD would be it as it should post anyway.

I can see why. That doesn't make any sense. It should do something with all the hardware you've changed out.

jeez the only thing left as i can see is the power chord or the power outlet on the wall has a problem.

i'm assuming the working computer is plugged elsewhere

Have you checked the fsb jumper configuration? When I fucked around with my comp and upped the FSB, it would turn on but wouldn't display anything.

They might have sent you another dead board. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of it.

Errr, to answer the replys:

Jugg, No, it dosent.. you wanker :)

Psyche911, i have tryed it out of the case on my table, and tripped the power Via ascrewdriver ( not something i recommend doing ! ) Nothing.

Toxic, read the damn topic..

Ax: i am using the plug and wire off of my main computer to try and power this on, so i dont think its the issue.

Toxic: yet again, this is a A7n8x-e Deluxe, its a Jumper Free computer, and i allready said that i cleared the Cmos as well as took out the Cmos batt..

Juggs: wubbles
