hey guyz im running a quake 3 server and i was wondering why i cant get the port to be default...(27960) its always going to 6xxxx or sumthin simialr to it...i want it default port so ppl dont have to look in server browsers all the time to get the port or to connect...just want them to /connect (ip) if any1 could help me that would be great...thnx

tried that b4 and yes i tried it again and it dont work

Are you behind a router or proxie, per chance?

yea...my dad has a router...is there a way i can get around that or no?

i know f'all aboot ports and stuff but i hear the word port forwarding alot even though i have no idea what it does.
perhaps this is what u need to do?

Yep. Take a look at
http://www.portforward.com/ and configure your dad's router to forward UDP port 27960 to your computer. Don't forget to configure your firewall also if you use one.
