so i downloaded the demo... and found out my pc actually does run the game well enough to play it. (40-60 fps)
now i'm going to be tempted to buy it everytime i go buy a game store. dammit! :icon33:

Buy it for the SP game if nothing else.

is the multiplayer as slow as i think its going to be (based on how bloody slow the guy moves and the extreme fall-damage)?

No. It's basically Q3 speed (in absolute numbers) but you're taller so it looks and feels a bit slower.

It's really no different than Quake 3 but your FPS is just like it was 5 years ago. So when we upgrade our computers again I suppose our FPS will gain just like it did in Q3.

The physics take a bit of getting used to but after a while it feels similar to Q3.

Yea. I've had some killer fun CTF and DM games.

As was said already, you can strafe just as fast and far as you could in Q3, but since the player model is taller, it doesn't look quite as fast.

My brother thought the game was slower than Q3 when he was watching me play it, but after he played it himself a little he changed his mind.

I also downloaded the demo...havent played it yet. I can prolly run it alright...

Dunno why ...but I am not in any hurry to get the game...but in the end I will...guess I am waiting for some "big barn burning...mod" and for all the "stuff" to get more ...generalish main streamish...

I dont even have the game and there just seems like there is no real "direction" the majority of the people are gravatating towards yet...

by the time I do buy it ...maybe it will be cheap...LOL

Honestly I just didnt get "hot and bothered" over Q4 like I did over Q2 and Q3...when they came out it was exciting and so fun!!!!

the problem isn't really the money per'se ... more related to the time investment. Considering school and work and the 3 or so other games i'm 1/2 through but havn't had time to actually finish off.

The framerate is locked at 60FPS.

The SP in Q4 almost makes up for D3.
