ok, i recently picked up a logitech mx 1000 laser cordless mouse

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... ENTID=9043

i downloaded the latest drivers and still, no game will detect the thumb buttons or the scroll buttons on top (the scroll wheel is detected but there are buttons also that games aren't detecting)

so what do I do?

we'll consideirng you did the worst move and installed the logi software...

Bind the thumbs to a key on your keyboard, then bind quake to those keyboard keys.

Next time, dont install the software.

Get a mac. My MX1000 has every button bound in Q3, and it works flawlessly.

Well I would save the thousand or so and not buy a Mac, I found the software for the MX510 to be good. running on just Windows default drivers does it work?

well if i close the setpoint program which controls what is bound to what.... it affects the mouse different, and only half of the buttons work.. like the bottom thumb button and clickin the wheel in works, but scroll up (thumb) and the scroll buttons don't work..

what if i uninstall the software?

Just bind the buttons to keyboard strokes.

For me:

top thumb: F5
bottom thumb: F8
wheel button: alt + back arrow
top wheel button: home
bottom wheel button: end
bottom most wheel button: alt + F4

With my PC, I have it so I can dual boot.
One into my programs OS and the other into my games OS.

I just have as much as possible disabled on my gaming OS. My programs OS, I have AVG and that sort of crap loaded at startup.
