CMOS Battery

Well my CMOS battery died, not suprised, I always throw the switch on the surge protector at night to shut off the speakers so I don't get that low frequency buzz, they have a power switch, but it is behind the subwoofer that is under my desk. I also do it because the motherboard has two LED lights on when it is has power. Now waiting to get a new battery is no problem, and the BIOS settings are no issue as my mobo has a permanant memory feature that allows you to save and load BIOS configs, so I jsut load one up every time I boot till I get a new battery, my question is, is there any harm in running a computer with a CMOS battery removed, and keeping a computer without power and no battery for the night?

I guess not... but I don't think you need to be that OCD about LEDs on your mobo being on when the comptuer is off.

I much perfer to sleep in darkness, the main thing is the really bright LED and the sonud being emitted from the speakers, so I just flip the surge off

So the inside is exposed and visible all the time? Or are these some really bright assed lights? o.0
Are thoes speakers Klipsch 2.1s? Theyre set up the same way, my brother finaly just gave in a reaches behind the sub (which is on the lower shelf of the printer table) to turn them on and off when he shuts down the computer.

Well I have a window on the side of my case, so they shine through it. It isn't very bright, and not too noticable except when I am trying to sleep. Yes, they are Klipsch 2.1s. If the only problem of switching the surge protector off is a rather short CMOS battery life then I will just keep doing that.

Just goto your local store and buy a battery. It's probably a 2032 battery.
