Quake3World

You guys told me to let you know if anything new happened with Classic Doom 3, well, we released version 1.0 today.

I know this is a Quake 3 forum, but since this is my "home" I like to let you guys know what's going on with my projects.

Haha. Well, I guess I didn't know that, and I would probably never say that. I think John Lennon said something along those lines and Christians hated him for some time. Thanks for the compliment though.

Even though E1M1 always will be the 'Doom' classic tune, I have always loved E1M2 and this version is so damn fine!

i just played trough it. there are some maps (or parts of them) which look a bit empty or somehow "unprofessional", but overall its really awesome!
and the whole soundtrack is just ... OMFG! it was so much fun running through the levels with the music pumping.

hipshot, yeah, E1M1 is almost like the Doom anthem, but there are other really good songs in the game. My version of E1M8 is my favorite. It's really cool that you actually played it though.

chaOs, it's important to keep in mind that this isn't the final release. We wanted to release 1.0 once we got all the levels done. Now that they're all done we can concetrate on making them "spifier", if you will, and adding in the other assets we've been wanting to get in for a while. I'm guessing the one that didn't look as good as the rest was E1M4. yeah, Gazz rebuilt that one from scratch not too long ago and he's already started making it better since the 1.0 release.

Personally I like playing our mod better than Doom 3 itself. I can say that because I wasn't in the team when I played the first release (0.25). That release only had 3 levels and included no music, but it was still fun as hell. I got real lucky getting in this team.
