i was rebuilding a beater box to give to my sister, wile putting on a SLIM volcano 8 on a t-bird 750 i heard a faint little *click*.

Now, when i heard this, i froze, and said "I hope that just wasent the Core. "

Sure enough, i get it all togeather, try to boot it, BAM.. NOTHING

w00t, My first killing of a CPU..

this is more of a rant, but all you other nerds can relate to this one. :/

I killed a hard drive once. Killed it dead with a screwdriver. It was my whopping 450 mb drive. That was when I learned to turn the power off before doing anything else.

I just picked up an ASUS P3B-F motherboard with a P3550 Mhz chip just for my server for $30.
My other server died and I haven't found out what's wrong with it yet.
It could the CPU or the motherboard.

yea, that has happened to me before..

i had a ECS Dual P3 board doing some light webserver stuff.. and it just decided to stop running stable one day.. after replacing it. i found out it was a capasator

i have a quite little stock pile of spair's at the mo,

her old computer was a cel 500 on an Asus p2b...
and considering she is moving so far away, i wont be able to work on it so i want to make sure its 100%

I scratched my old A7V pretty badly when replacing the heatsink a few years back.

Indecently I still have a 1.0Ghz Thunderbird that I don’t know what to do with.

Actually I found out my problem is the power supply. Not sure what volts it was putting out, but it just wasn't enough.

I think one wire was putting out 11.93 and the other wire was putting out 4.85 when it should have been like 12.8 and 5.7 ish.
