Water and Swimming?

Apologies in advance for my ignorance. I don't have Quake 4 yet -- waiting for the Mac port (thank you so much Id!).

Does Quake 4 have water and swimming like in Quake 3?

If not, please add it to the next official map pack. A lot of people had problems adding water and swiming in maps for Doom 3.

Thank you. :icon25:

aye not come across any water yet, so unsure on how it wet it will be.

the Q4Fortress map (mach) certainly has water, I guess we'll have to wait for the release to get our feet wet

Their coder 3j also posted in their dev journals that he has finished the physics for water as well.

In the 5 minutes between Quake II and Quake IV, all the water on Stroggos evaporated. So I guess you're shit out of luck.

I only hope it will work similar in all mods. Maybe someone should make the code and release it to public?

I just hope they put water in an official map pack, including swimming animations. That would fix the problem.

I think we will use this asset from the D3CIT mod because then everybody has it easy to implement : http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~danteuk/

We cant control what other mods do though :/

If the next official map map pack had a remake of q3ctf2, that would do the trick.

LoL, they'd probably do a remake without water then, just like with q4dm7.

Err, you mean q4dm7 (remake of The Edge), right? (I know, they purposingly messed with the numbring just to confuse us :))

Whoops, i thought it was dm1. :) You don't see the .map names very often in the game so you don't get much opportunity to learn the map numbers...
