To the former LevelSource visitors...

As you all known, LevelSource died a slow death and hasn't seen any activity in months. Now it would be a shame to let it's content go to waste, especially all those cool design contests that were hosted by them. So me and Redfella sat down and agreed that I would preserve it for the future.
So from now on all the posts orginally made at LevelSource are ported over to
http://www.leveldesign.nl So if you are an active lurker or a past member, feel free to check it out over at ld. The orginal LevelSource site will go down somewhere this week.
Also, if you were a member before it should be possible to login at ld with the same account information.
By doing this, we are sure nothing is lost. Also former moderators at LevelSource such as Rgoer should have the same rights at Leveldesign.nl now.
As always, at your service...

Thanks a lot! We try to do what we can. With Mapcenter it's upcoming demise, there aren't a lot of mapping sites left which offer the support they did. Even though Q3 must now live in the shadow of Q4, most of the articles and tutorials are still applicable in nowadays games.
Besides it's a shame to see a site which a lot of people put a lot of time and effort in, go to waste.
Regarding the contests, yeah the results were and still are awesome. I'm going to work my way through all the post and edit them to show the posted screens and filter the broken links. Even if nobody would edit for Q3 anymore, it would still count as a valuable source for inspiration.

Tip: use google cache to find the pages of those contest that no longer exist. That's how i found all the map names and screenshots and working links to the authors' sites of a number of maps. Todsteltzer was so kind to upload the missing maps for me.

Thanks Tod!
and yes Oeloe I was planning to do that. But first there are some minor bugs that need to be ironed out. Thanks for the tip though.
I wish Astro from Mapcenter would do the same as Redfella did for his site. Oh well, I guess it shows one nature.

..and I would upload them for leveldesign.nl as well, if you can't get them from the original authors or other dl locations, Infernis.
