wish i could find a 1.3:1 aspect ratio version without a logo so i could fit the whole image on my desktop without stretching. (i run 1024x768)Dave wrote:1920x1200 sans retarded logo...

hm - also the wallpaper version is washed out compared to the other versions.

oh and i suspect that they washed out the wallpaper because a bright, contrasty image can be distracting as wallpaper.. either that or they didn't bother to export it correctly from PS

Jules. I took the extra large jpeg image, centered it at it's native res, and allowed it to flow off the screen in some areas.
Native pic res: 1280x1280
screen res: 1280x800
Native pic res: 1280x1280
screen res: 1280x800

so just to clarify, there is part of the image missing right? (compared to the original 1:1)

yeah, there's a lot of the image missing.. the original is not a 4:3 image. The other alternative in that case would be to break the aspect ratio and distort the image in order to use the whole thing

Here's another one made from the full size 385 MB TIFF file out of some stars in the souther region. I think it makes better WP because it's darker and not as distracting with icons. I'd resize it, but i closed Photoshop. That file took about 5 mins to open.
