Chatbeep off?

Simple question : How do you turn the chatbeep off (BaseQ)?

AFAIK, its not possible to remove teamchat bleeps.

Copy the soundfile sound/players/talk.wav and edit it to silence. Put it in a .pk3 and give a cool name to it
Or save yourself some work, download this zip, and extract the .pk3 to /baseq3

Or play a civilized version of Quake III (OSP or CPM) and just use the built in cvars. :/

Just a thought.
Assuming the chat beep is a cheap simple sound, say, its frequency is roughly constant, you can lead the output from your sound card to expensive dj mixer then reduce the gain of that frequency at low level then lead back to your speaker or headphone. :icon4:

Played OSP for 3 years. Switched mods and this nice server just happens to be Vanilla. Back to basics can be fun actually :icon26:
