AGP Graphics Card Question

Hey ho.

I currently have:

A Pentium 4 3ghz PC with 1gig Ram and a GeForce 5950 Ultra. The card is obviously quite old now and I was thinking of an upgrade. I think the PC itself, i.e the processor is fine, so I am thinking the upgrade will be the graphics card.

However, the problem is my motherboard does not support PCI express so the only option I have is an AGP card. From what I can see this means I am limited to the 6 series of card for Nvidia. Is this correct? If this is correct do you have recommendations for a card that will be a nice upgrade?

Thanks.

Ah. According to Overclockers forums, a thread on the currecnt AGP situation reveals this:

7800 GS - Due early February and will be approx £230 - £250 Inc. VAT. (BFG & XFX available on launch)

Maybe I should wait?

I agree you should wait, and BFG is a great choice. They are the best overclockers.

Well it arrived at 7.30am. Overclockers are so good with their deliveries, that's well under 24 hours.

Anyway, the card is excellent. Massive difference. I quickly played HL2 and there was no slowdown at all.
