Canadian Election

We won’t know the results until 10 PM EST (there is a coverage ban or something), I just voted for the NDP candidate in my area. However there is no chance for him to win as over 60% vote Liberal in my area.

I’m crossing my fingers, hoping that by some miracle it will be a Liberal minority. What are your thoughts? If you haven’t voted you still have until 9:30 PM EST, you can register at the door if you have id and it’s pretty much empty.

Also let's keep all the election stuff in this thread, thanks. :)

I figure people will make threads about it once the results begin to show up.

just came back from voting - was a toss-up between NDP and Green.

Wife and I went Green, but im in Alberta so its about as near 100% that a conservative is going in anyway. Im hoping for a Minority either way Conservative most likely will be the result but would be fine with a liberal one with a strong NDP/Green showing...

I also like the Green Party, they have a good platform imo. But voted NDP because they are also a great party and have more specific solutions.

If you want to see if your views match with the party you support, take a look at this:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/special/ ... olkit.html

Click "Vote analyzer", mine is basicly a split between Green/NDP.

Also if you want to check your riding from 2004, take a look at this:

http://www.sfu.ca/~aheard/elections/2004-ONT.html

You can select the province with a drop down menu, don't forget each vote is also $1.75 for the party you voted for.

Looks like it's time to start watching CBC.

unless they have a different voting station on each card, he can't get away with it.

The greens in this area made it clear they didn't support free trade and NAFTA, so I rejected them outright. As for the NDP, I dont trust them with the economy despite having agreeable social policies.

If there were still a progressive conservative party, I would've considered voting for them over the Liberals. As it stood today, there was only one choice. Which is unfortunate since I didn't want to reward a party that's become increasingly corrupt.

i just hope it's a minority government again. none of the parties are trustworthy enough to hold a majority.
