Work are paying for a wifi router for my home. I've asked for this

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=268251

I'll be running one laptop, one powerbook, one media centre and one xbox360. The 360 will be used on live and as an extender. I'll need to swap files from the powerbook to the laptop via some kind of file share, like a appleshare floder etc. I have 2mbit ADSL from tiscali.

Think the router is upto the job? anything i need to know about this unit? anyone used one or know of any issues?

persionally, everything you listed is basical childs play for the router, it wont but any stress on it :)

and btw, i have not heard anything wrong with that line of routers, and the things that i have heard was due to a problem between the keyboard and the chair :)

GL mang, Take your time setting it up and you will be good to go :)

Wire anything you practically can afford to do so (media center and xb) since the wireless is ok for net surfing and such but file transfers are a bitch.

You may want to be able to quickly dock your laptops when doing large transfers.

Yep, getting a dock with my laptop, just waiting for it to come. xpMCE is only really on the net to get the guide and windows update. The power book is for the missus to email/net etc and my laptop is for a citrix link to work.

The only real load it will see will be serving the 360 as an extender. i'd like to see how it copes wifi before i wire it.
