Quake3World

I'm UJC14 (I go by Fighter17 in the game), and I'm new to Quake 3. I have a lot of questions and problems, let me start by the problems:

Problems:

Everytime I join a server, sometimes it changes my settings like my jump button will be totaly different place (it will also change my screen rez settings to 800x600, but I set the settings to 1024x768) and also sometimes the server will shut off the joystick option (I play with a PS2 controller). I change the settings before I play online, and sometimes it just doesn't save my settings!

When I join some servers, it gives me a invaild CD Key information (I have a vaild CD Key).

On some servers, when I join, it's gives me a Punkbuster error message (I have the latest Punkbuster and the latest Point Release (1.32). It saids .pk3 or something like that. Also some servers will kick me out of their servers for no reason (I don't cheat). Oh yeah, some error messages saids that my files are not pure or something like that.

Questions:

How to download levels (I don't have certain levels, so I can't join some games online)?

Where's the best place for noobs (so I can become better)?

How to hook on walls (it's still bugging me)?

If you wanne get better, the first thing I suggest you do is
get rid of the controller and play with your keyboard and mouse

In gameoptions, turn Automatic downloading on. This will help you get some levels if the server allows.

Exactly. Playing any first person shooter pc game with a joypad is nonsense. So use a decent keyboard and mouse.

/bind mouse2 + button5
I'm sure that will works on 1.16 :icon22: , but on 1.32 I'm not sure
of course it works on some servers. only when hook is turned on.
