Thanks riddla and dz. Thing is, I have a lot of lossless shows downloaded from archive.org that are in wav format, and I'd like to be able to burn them onto a dvd-r that will play in a standard dvd player. The only program I have found so far that will do the job is Ulead's Burn.Now. My trial expired for it. I'm thinking of buying it but would like to know what else is out there first.
Will Nero do this?

Sure will and it's pretty easy. File | New and select dvd. Then the standard dvd-video preset. Then nero will convert the file you have to whatever is necessary to get it to play in a dvd player. I think most formats are capable of doing this.
Dosen't seem like it supports menu creation, but if you burn a normal cd as vcd or s-vcd there is a menu tab that will let you select the titles and background. Maybe in a future release of Nero 7 they will improve the dvd burning so it supports menu creation. btw I'm not sure if version 6 lets you burn dvds or not or if they added the support in 7.

Chuc's asking about audio playback, not video. i don't think that will work.

Oh well in that case, there really isn't any way to get a dvd burnt into "audio mode" is there?

Nero will burn digital audio DVDs, if that's what you mean.

If you don't want to warez Nero, CDBurnerXP pro is a good, free choice:
