I've got my 108 netgear wifi router and, for now, running one xp laptop, one media centre, my ibook and printer off the router. the media centre is wifi.
I've setup a LAN but to do so i've had to enable file and printer sharing over the network.
question is am i safe behind my router? The netgear is the DG834GT. Cheers.

You probably need to install a firewall.
I use Kerio so I know it has the option, but I would think others would as well.
Then you can allow Microsoft F&P Sharing only to addresses on your trusted network, and block it from any other addresses (i.e. internet).

On wifi I would recommend using XP's firewall but allowing file/print sharing. It will add another layer of security but shouldn't add any more hassle.

Yea just make sure your wireless connection is secured, and you don't have any user accounts on the computers with blank passwords.

On XP, blank passwords can only be used to log on locally by default
. Its one of it's better security measures for home users IMO.

Which firewall are you using? It sounds like you haven't enabled outbound access for the Citrix client.

If it stopped working since you installed a software firewall then its a Windows thing.
