I think that whole thing is a hoax. It'd be typical of the WoW community, however.

It would be cool if Blizzard had a "we don't deal with terrorists" mentality and zerged the guild's base with their characters to take back the item and use it for themselves to let the community see the new content. I have no idea how the game mechanics work to know if that could happen, but it would make for some funny screenies.

The AIDS thing was pretty cool. One of those 'spontaneous complexities arising from changes to the simple rules of a system' type of deals.
