Roto-scoped film version of the book by Philip K Dick, directed by Richard Linklater.
Set in a future world where America has lost the war on drugs, an undercover cop, Fred, is one of many agents hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes its users to develop split personalities. Fred, for instance, is also Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Along with his superior officers, Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to catch Bob and tear down his operation.
See acting super-imposed onto keanu reeves' face!

Witness the return of a medley of hollywood bums!

I did read up before I posted and found it. Still thought it was about that before I read up though.

So is the movie basically about how the country went to shit because we lost the war on drugs?

Sorry, don't have time to watch the trailer right now at work, but the description piqued my curiosity.

Does knowing about the split personality spoil the story?

It looks pretty cool, though. Reminds me of Waking Life.

A fad? I know of only one other movie that does it. You got a list?

perhaps not a fad, but a gimmick

At least it's not as popular as, say, bullet time.

Hey, if it fits the theme of the movie, then it's fine in my book. Waking Life did a good job with it, and this movie might be able to, too.
