Eh, I was playing some custom TF the other night, it just doesn't compare to Q2 or 3.

Instead of spending a shit load of points on a primary weapon, I just put all my points into speed and armor/health then only use a little bit of points to pick up a super nailgun as a secondary weapon with a bandoiler.
I can take out the standard soldier with a super nailgun just from using speed and have enough armor/health to take a good amount of splash damage. The speed to avoid direct hits from a rocket or grenade.

The only thing bad about the layout is that if your outnumbered it's very hard to take out more than one player at once with a super nailgun. I just have to keep tyring to fight 1v1 until I get enough upgrade points in which case I can use them to get the beserk power up in my layout and finish guys twice as fast.

still think the most fun I ever had was with the original Quake. 3wave with that bad ass off-hand hook. =)

Most fun I've had was Quake 2 Weapons Factory back when the mod was booming. In the days of my 28.8k modem and reliable 400+ ping.
