120Hz Refresh Rate

Anyone know of an affordable monitor that can push high-resolution high-refresh rates?
I'm on an LCD at the moment and as good as it is for games, nothing beats running quake 3 at 120Hz refresh rate. Nothing.
I guess I'm looking at finding a second hand high-end graphics monitor, maybe an SGI jobbie with a convertor or and old mac screen.
Most monitors I can find only push up to 85hz at 1024 or such, do you know of any that can push 120Hz at 800*600 or 1024*768?

If you don't already, get that running in quake 3 with picmip 5 and the whole works and watch your accuracies skyrocket.
Having mouse sampling, FPS and refresh all around the 120Hz mark is very slick.

I run 800x600 @ 120Hz, it is quite sexy indeed.

ive got a samsung 959nf and i dont think it said in the specs that i can run 1280@120, but i can select it anyway, if i try 1900 the 150 hz option isnt there anymore just from 100 down, so would this hurt my monitor or something?

Same. Promode skins is enough. But simpleitems are BS to me too. Doesn't improve visibility at all. Picmip+vertex can be counterproductive too sometimes because of lack of contrast. In some maps the floor has the same colour as your nades, so they're invisible on it. -_-
The only tweak i use is r_intensity 1.65 and r_overbrightbits 0 to make the shadows less deep.
I still wish that vsync could be used in Q3/Q4 without the mouse lags; i played with 100 Hz 100 FPS which is _ULTRA_ smooth, but flick shots are just really bad because of the lags/sensitivity drops. The LG Flatron F900P is a great screen (awesomely vivid colours) and does 1024@130 Hz, 1280@95 Hz. I have my F700P at 1152@100Hz, at 1024 it's just below 120 Hz. 150 Hz at 800x600...

I keep forgetting that. r_swapinterval is vsync anway, but there's another cvar called r_finish that controls something related to vsync.

Too lazy to check the value of r_swapinterval in the console? :icon29: Sync every frame doesn't change that cvar iirc so it doesn't really make a difference.

Hey, I may be vastly better than you at this game but that doesn't qualify me as a pro :icon32:
