I really don't know much about computer hardware but I was thinking of upgrading from my GeForce FX 5500 128 mb agp card to a 6200, I have picked these two,

The pny card is much cheaper but it asks for a 300W psu, I only have a 250W psu, I don't think I could get the money to upgrade my psu either, would I be okay if I bought the pny one though or would I be better off with the bfg card?

IMO, you should avoid PNY; the 5700 card that I bought had a very inadequate heatsink & fan. I ended up replacing it with a Zalman cooler.

The 6200 is a really shitty card these days. Are you sure you can't manage come up with the money to get at least a 6600GT?

Agreed, there's a few on that site with comparable prices to the bfg 6200 posted.

If I wanted a 6600 I would need to get a new psu... and I want to get Half-Life 2 as well... I could always get LE, the budget version of the 6600.

Save a bit then. Anything less than a 6600 isn't worth the cash IMO.
