I alllllllmost picked one of these up for 799, but found out Dell charges sales tax online. :dork: So I kinda backed out, and then saw an expired deal for like 730 the next day. :( Oh well. It will get down around 700 again. I will pick one up then. Is it comparable to the 20 widescreen? I had one of those, and it took some getting used to for gaming, but loved it.

One of my problems is when gaming I need to push the screen back. IMO it's much smoother than the 2005FPw and has a much better screen and viewing angle.

They're selling them for cheap now that the 2007 models are on their way.

why the hell do they limit that to the US only? I'm in Denmark, and on their danish site they're almost twice the price. Damn. Would it be possible to order it anyway, or wouldn't it work because of PAL/NTSC standards?

I've got the same monitor. It's theonly piece of hardware I won that I can't fault. I just wish I could figure out how to get it to read multimedia cards and accept usb connections :(

They are usually warranteed for between 3 and 5 years. with XP the card reader and USB should work once you plug in the supplied USB cable. nothing more required. Shoud be the same with 2000 as well. If not the drivers are on the disc or Dell.com.

There is a good chance that they may be faulty. It's happened on one or two montors for me already (out of a few hundred) Just call it in and say you have tried it on a few computers with the same result, usually they will send you a replacement with a return shipping label. At least they do that for the US.

What's the aspect ratio of that screen on the left? I presume it can be rotated on the base to be landscape. It's pretty slick. :icon14:

you can just order them, no worries
in the Netherlands there is no customs duties nor taxes to be paid for importing computer equiptment
if it would have a tv tuner you would have to pay those, but since there isnt....
check your customs service for details, it is waaaaaaay cheaper importing one then buying one 'locally'

Sounds cool. I think there's taxes in Denmark on IT equipment, I recall some bad incidents where I was taxed for gay stuff I shouldn't have been taxed for. And when I say gay stuff, I mean IT stuff, obviously....

I was also thinking about the PAL/NTSC problem, wouldn't it be difficult to fix? Or is it different with computer screens? Ahh confused...!

Oh and nice danish GH! :) Det går GODT! Dig?

One thing I notice when I moved over to LCD is that it doesn't have the smooth as butter feel in FP shooters that CRT has. Even with my 2005FPW. So you'd say the 2405FPW is much closer to the buttery smoothness of an CRT?

Welcome to the Club GH :)

i have been running this thing for a few months now, and its damned nice!

a little Videonoise is noticeable when you are watching DVD's ( Through the computer or through Component ) Other then that, its hard for my old tired 9800 to push this thing at the res's that it needs. :)

Hope you are as happy with yours as i am with mine mang :)

p.s. GL Finding Native Sized backgrounds :/
