I would expect so if you seal it in some perspex box inbedded in the wall and sealed in every way possible by clear resin. BUt then again I'm not sure about whether tvs need air to keep cool.

Any chance of some photos of the bathroom and the place where you want the tv to be?

Also do you have a perticuler model in mind?

How much are you looking to spend on the ability to watch Lost while taking a steamer?

Does the 500 quid include the tv or have you already bought one?

Then you're fucked unless you do something crude like this:

And don't even get me started on the problems with wireing something like that.

Sorry by electronics and water just don't work unless you're willing to spend some cash. There are purposley designed tvs that would fit perfectly into that setting but they're like a grand. It's a specialist industry for a reason tbh.

can't you just do without TV for the time it takes to dump or shower?

i've seen a few people who just toss a normal 19" tv on the counter

its not like you're going to have enough steam to turn the entire room into a bolt of lightning.

I agree with the sentiment "WTF do you need a tv in your bathroom?"

Yeah those things are expensive man, it's not just the TV itself that's expensive it's the setup and installment (unless you're a good handy man and you can do it yourself) that's gonna run ya quite a bit... I dunno... I think a TV in my bathroom is pushing it a little bit, I rarely watch the thing though.
