thats right, I think quad sucks, it destroys the balance in any game adn when players have the timing right, they basicly move between RA and quad and MH,

its boring and an unfair advantange imo. I prefer Pro maps because they dont have it. Question: am I being unreasonable, I know if I used quad more, I would win more games, but I liken it a bit to bfg which is a shit gun imo.

So should I get over it already, or do others also dislike quad/bfg for similar reasons?

Hmmm, it's still in pro-q3dm6 is it not? Unless the tdm server I play on (it usually get's callvoted from other gametypes) dosen't reset the cfg in-between, so the new item values don't get set correctly.

I don't like it when I play on a team that dosen't count when it spawns, so they run around scared and die a lot. ;s But with both teams that try and pick it up, there can be some fun strategy-type confrontations around the quad areas.

It's relevant in TDM, and not suitable for 1v1

OSP servers mostly remove it from 1v1.

Play on OSP servers.

Although I would'nt mind getting rid of quad all together.

It's not silly. If your team isn't organised enough to defend the quad area when it's about to respawn, you'll be owned by a team that is organised enough to do that.

or, on the other hand, if you've lost control of RA or another key area you can steal a quad and regain control of the map. it's pretty ghey in 1v1 though.

yes, I was mostly talking about CTF.
I never play TDm, but I can see why it's worth something there.

Well...be happy the Quad in Q3 isn't as bad as it was in Q2CTF. 4x the damage (instead of 3) + plus Amp (so that's 8x) + power shield + red armor = fuck that.
