I have one. it's a great first time DSLR. My only moan is it's a little small for my big hands so i got the grip.

The cmos is the same as the 20D which is used by the pros.

Don't forget you need a lens, so add $100 min to that price, which will get you the 50mm cheap plastic prime lens... You also have to get the rebate, which can be a challenge. I just got my $600 rebate in the mail yesterday after waiting for 5 months and resubmitting twice.

If you're talking to me, I never said that the 20D wasn't used by pro's. If you're talking to teriba, he probably knows more pro's than you.

Why would a pro use a crap ass 20D? What does it offer the photographer?

Maybe because it works as advertised? You won't be using it long in the rain, of course, but if you can get paid with it because of your skills (which are more important) without having to blow 6+ grand on a 1Ds, you've done more with less.

I prefer to sit in the middle with a 5D.

Try taking photos without anything at all and see how far you get.

Lol who would spend £1000s on a camera just to have it smashed up on a shoot by some wanker celeb. Sorry mate but it’s a fact. Almost all the pros I’ve worked with have used or still use a 20D in there kit because it just works. Being a “pro” yourself (lol) you should know it’s not the camera that makes the picture.

Jesus, he sells a few landscapes over the internet and he now the man….

BTW, the pros I work with are “Pros” as in not making $50 here and there. I’ve been spending a lot of time in Cardiff over the last month with a chap called Simon who owns the rights to Jack Cardiff’s negs. I’ve been designing a workflow to reproduce the negs, touch and print large format in neutral black and white for the New York museum of Photography on canvas, framed at $8000 each. I’ve also been colour calibrating his limited runs art to ensure it stays the same. The last number is about to be sold for £10’000.
Simon also has a £150’000 studio, frame shop and new darkroom setup for his photography. The last wedding he did cost the customer £15’000 which I had to ensure the prints were to the best the printer could do.
This is just one of my accounts I look after and work with almost everyday TB, so don’t even think about talking to me about pros, because you really don’t have a fucking clue.

BTW, he has three 20Ds that are still used for head shots.

PS, shut up.
