He sure does. In addition to the responsibility of the execution of laws, he is usurping the role of creating and interpreting the meaning of legislation as well.

He is acting out the roles of all three branches of government himself, behind closed doors after everyone else is gone home.

I disagree. His approval rating is getting tinier by the week - once it gets to a certain point, it would be political suicide for Congress not to impeach him.

What's interesting is the lack of public outrage. By that I mean the lack of the media's willingness to publicize the outrage that does exist.

Just like Ryoki's guy, the large majority of people in this country want his ass out of office - but still the mainstream news is not interested in airing these grievances in proportion to the numbers of people who feel that way. Their headlines aren't a whole lot different in tone than they were a year ago.

So, to people who get all their news from television, there doesn't really seem to be a lot of outrage at all. So those people think they're still in the minority if they want Bush impeached, even if that isn't necessarily true.

That's the dangerous power that a few large companies have over our political process.

It sounds like the UK is pushing for their ministers to have authoritarian powers as well.
They are trying to pass a law that will allow any minister to arbitrarily change any existing law, with no oversight, as long as it doesn't impose new taxes, isn't a criminal offense with more than a 2 year prison sentence, and doesn't authorize forced search and seizure.
