Quake3World

Hi, i am from the uk using a T1 cable modem, my bro is in scotland 300 miles away give or take using speed touch dsl 1 meg, i cant find this guy on any of the servers. when talking on the phone we've found that our server listings are different, i can never connect to his game, even when im trying to connect using the server ip address.
How come i can play someone from france but not a few hundred miles away?
Does it have something to do with the internet connection?
or......?
well i was hoping someone would answer that

Are you both using the same version of Q3?

To check start Q3 then bring down the console and it shows the
version of Q3 in the lower right corner.

what piecemaker said..i had that problem i found out the other person had somthing wrong with his quake. gl with your problem
