LM what happened was that this board was down for months due to some GSI/IGN switchover or something to that affect. Ask raw: he would know the precise details. Anyway, we are back. : )

What happened is that GSI's dynamic servers (which host most if not all forums, including Quake3World) were attacked by hackers. They had to update and reconfigure their entire range of dynamic servers. This ment that all forums running on GSI's servers went down.

Most forums came back up pretty quickly, but probably because in the meantime GSI was bought by NGI they either forgot about Q3W, weren't interested in bringing it back up or refused to do so. So Q3W was in ruins. Many people went over to raw's forums over at raw-one.com, but now raw has managed to get Quake3World back up and running, this time using phpbb instead of ubb.

So right now raw and others are in the process of rebuilding the entire forum as it used to be, both in terms of the way it looked and the forum structure, moderators and administrators and account details. These forums might have some rough edges if you're used to the old Q3W but it's quite good already :icon14:

Yeah, it's already starting to look almost identical to the old boards. They are working on it with a vengeance. :icon14: I've noticed several changes in the last few hours even.

I used to frequent here a long time ago. As time went on though, I pretty much only came around when I needed to chat with other admins or had a server question.

THAT is how I made my way back here... I needed some assistance getting VSP to work.

These forums were always my favorite though.
