Me and a buddy will play BF2, i got his Mic all setup and ready to go last time i was over. But each and every time he go's into the game, the Mic becomes so quiet that the game will not pick up ANYTHING that he says. The only thing that it will pick up is if we Flick or hit the mic REALLY hard.

All the volumes are turned up within the Game and windows and etc. Now here comes the Really weird part... if we start a MSN voice chat the mic will work no problem, And if we Go into Bf2 WITH the voice chat active the mic WILL work ingame.

anyone have any idea's? we have allready ran through the Voice setup a begillion times, Made sure all volumes are up, Made sure the Mic boost is on, and replaced the soundcard.

this one has gotten me stumped.

Spec's:
Sempron 2800+
Asus A7n8x-x ( we where using the onboard from this )
Sound blaster 128 PCI ( this is a spare that i had )
Windows XP.

Can any of you gents think of anything?

The only thing I can think of, is that sound blaster sucks with bf2... now, if that was the case, you could possibly bring your leet card from your putter and swap in friends box for just a quick test? :)

Hummm, No, then i would need to disconnect my water cooling and Unbound my wiring...

Sorry, but i just dont want to re-plum the water lines and etc all over again, i just got all of the air out of it :)

i will get him to take out the SB and go back to his onboard.

its weird that it would turn the volume of the mic WAY down to the point of where its inoperable.

Wheres gramps when you need him?! :)
