Last friday, 5th of May, marked the 14th birthday of Wolfenstein 3D. Hurrah!
As is customary, I'm wishing a happy birthday to Wolfenstein 3-D - he's 14 today!

I'm still waiting for an awesome source port that takes advantage of DirectX9...... any takers out there? If so, please add multiplayer. :)

Damn, I feel old.

I have it on a 486/33 sitting behind me. I'm sure I have the original install discs too.

Almost 10. Wolf3d and Blake Stone inspired me, but Doom (2) was the game that really hooked me to the FPS genre. After that Duke3D (kickass) and HL (major revolution) including all expansion packs and a number of custom campaigns. I even finished Daikatana. :x Rise of the Triad actually was the first FPS i played on LAN. Funny shit. :)

Talking about funny shit, this flash movie mentioned on romero's site is pretty funny: http://www.reelsplatter.com/doom-cartoon.html

I was 6...I remember my dad playing, but because of my mom I wasn't allowed to. He left the room one time and came back to me shooting nazis. I got grounded :(

He grounded you because you probably ruined his savegame :clownboat:

Ha I was 12 when it came out but didn't see it until I was 14. It blew me away, but the day after I saw Doom (shortly after it's initial release). A month later I had a 486. :icon31:

I made a fuckup though. Moved the thread here but I would like the thread to remain open in id Legends with this last post edited out, but now I can't seem to do anything with the thread in IDL anymore
