Hi all again,

Just wondering what the state of play is with q3, are people still playing it in droves, or have people got into other games like maybe Q4? Looked quite down on numbers on GamesSpy, which is understandable I suppose 7 years on! :icon28:

Q3's always been pretty low on the rankinds on GS stats. I looked last week and was surprised it was still so high after such time.

I think the most likely explaination is that Q3 built up a medium sized core of players and for the most part the numbers are remaining consistent.

Q4's way, way down the list, it attracted a portion of the Q3 populace away from Q3 but I've yet to hear from many people who left other games to play it... And I think many of those who moved from Q3 have since returned to Q3 when Q4 turned out to have very dissapointing MP.

I was really gutted when I read the reviews for Q4 especially when I found out that it was a 'walk throught the maze type game like Q2'. I had heard that all the original Q3 maps had been reworked into Q4 for online play, much like the original UT maps?

I'm glad is still a cult following, it really is still one of my favourite games, and is a new way of enjoying it.

You really notice the difference in standard of player as well, without wanting to start a VS convo, I got on ok on the UT2004 server, yet the Q3 last night I was getting totally smashed to be honest! lol

thats prob because the guys still playing q3 now are hard core players who have been playing for 5-6 years
