just saw that last week. good stuff.

origins was also good, as were origins 2 and "the day the universe changed". origins were more series than documentary though.

"lessons of darkness" by Werner Herzog

One of if not the most impressive doc i've ever seen
It's about the burning oil wells in iraq after the first war. There's also a similar I-Max doc, but forget it.

thx for all the suggestions, about half which i've seen already. i'm snagging fog of war, loose change ed2 and end of suburbia as we speak. oilcrash hasn't been released yet, but looks good.

saw the nova elegant universe docs a couple of nights back. good stuff, and actually made sense to non-mathematical non-physicist. why we fight, manufacturing consent, the corporation and root of all evil are good too

I don't care, who set the fires. Doesn't change the awesomeness of the pictures in this docu. It's like a real sci-fi. Watch it.

Julz is blue planet about the oceans? I remember seeing a glimpse of a preview about some ocean documentary on the tube but never got around to watching it but I'd love to see it now.

yep it's all about life in the oceans. Fascinating stuff. Don't be fooled though - it is narrated by attenborough but not written by him.

Life of mammals, on the other hand, is written by him.
