Annoying

I have this proble but it sounds stupid but once in a wile when im playing quake this will keep appearing "name"is:*apple*seed"default:"unamedplayer
its not bound to any button it just buggs me to death..plz help me im confused

check in ur config file for that phrase and delete it if u find it
or if its online, it could be a server message (a stupid one)

as that's the name of a well-known pro, i think it's more likely you were messing around with pro configs and it slipped into your q3config.cfg (or maybe a thinshaft or zoom or chat config?) somewhere. open q3config.cfg with notepad and search for the string "apple"... you should find a line in there somewhere that's trying to change your name.

for some reason this has been showing up alot lately,i know at least a few others who have had this problem,possibly a pb problem?
maybe some bug as they are trying to adjust to the new 1.32c?

Just started happening to me in the last 3 days on multiple servers. Just an annoyance that is prolly PB related. Didn't happen today 'tho

nope! its been pinned to a setting in x-fire(at least for the people i know with this issue) do this..
Tools | Options | Games
Select Quake III Arena
Click the Advanced Options button
Check the box that says "Disable X-Fire in game"
